In my opinion, the Hale House Foundation is one of the most forerunning programs in the CSRA to assist men in the recovery of alcoholism and drug addiction. The program has offered me guidance, encouragement and supportiveness toward a change in my perception of life. This has enabled me to become useful whole and happy, as long as I remain alcohol and drug free!

The changes that have taken place in my life are too many to count, but one that stands out in my mind is my new found ability to share my feelings and thoughts with recovering residents at the "houses". Living in a community environment with other men suffering similar problems has enabled me to develop some valuable friendships for life. Thanks, Hale House Foundation.

Four years ago the Hale House Foundation accepted me into their community. Little did I know, that this would literally be the beginning of a new way of life. I was a broken, selfish, bitter and hopeless individual.

Over the years I have added some new words to my vocabulary such as, hope, peace, serenity, forgiveness and a variety of other positive motivations. None of this would have been possible without the patience and faith I've developed with the help of the Foundation. Because of the Foundation and their work with me concerning my recovery from drug abuse and alcoholism, I have truly come to believe in a power greater than myself and I am a witness that the power can work miracles in the lives of people like myself who thought there were no more chances. So I say to you believe and live again.

Hale House Foundation provided the recovery environment I needed, when I needed it. If this place hadn't been here, I would not have the sober, happy life I have today.

I had been in treatment before, but never on a long-term basis. The Hale House Foundation was really a blessing for me because they told me I could stay as long as it took for me to feel good about myself. As a result, I didn't feel pressure to hurry up and recover. Now, I'm really working the 'program' into my life. When I leave this halfway house, I will be a responsible and productive person. I thank God for the Hale House Foundation!
